Can you become addicted to club drugs such as ecstasy?
Answered By Editor
Ecstasy, also known as MDMA, has a chemical
structure similar to hallucinogens and
stimulants. It is commonly swallowed as a
pill. Researchers believe ecstasy is not a
physically addictive drug. With that said,
users cah build up a tolerance to the drug
very quickly.
The effects of ecstasy cause you to believe
you cannot function normally without the
drug. So, although ecstasy may not be
physically addictive in the strict sense, it
is extremely detrimental to the body and
mind. Furthermore, ecstasy can cause muscle
meltdown and even death due to excessive
dehydration and kidney and liver failure.
