How are youth getting access to drugs and alcohol?

Answered By Editor

Club drugs such as ecstasy, LSD, and other synthetic pills are commonly used by youth at parties, also known as "raves." Often, harder drugs such as cocaine, speed and heroin are also made available to young teenagers at these parties.

To gain access to alcohol, young people use Fake ID's to make purchases at stores, or they get a friend of a friend to purchase it for them. In many cases, alcohol and drugs are readily available at parties. Although experimentation may at first seem innocent, becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol is very real. It is a disturing trend to see that youth as young as twelve and thirteen are being admitted into rehabilitation facilities for drug and alcohol abuse.
