How addictive is nicotine and cigarette smoking?
Answered By Editor
Although most smokers want to stop and do
try, only one in three succeeds in stopping
permanently before age 60. Why? Because
nicotine is highly addictive. And, yes, you
can become addicted on your first cigarette.
In fact, some who have take drugs and who
have smoked and tried to quit have said that
cigarette smoking was more difficult to stop
than other drugs.
Here are some interesting facts about
quitting smoking:
* Those who eventually quit smoking usually
try to quit two or three times before finally
being successful.
* Only 2.5 percent of all smokers in the U.S.
successfully quit each year.
