Addiction Feedback: You can go to a hospital and say you are suicidal. If you are a danger to yourself or others you have to be hospitalized until you are no longer suicidal. You have to say you have a plan when they ask you, like “I’m going to take a knife to my wrists” otherwise they won’t believe you are going to kill yourself. THen you can detox there at the same time.
Addiction Feedback: Normally you’ll have to wait that long… take baby steps.. um, instead of taking the drug of choice you could always try doing something else instead of that.. like say exercise. Like every time you need the drug of choice go exercise. Turn the negative into a positive.. and get on the waiting list for the drug detox. Hope that helps a little.
Addiction Feedback: take them to your nearest hospital and they will detox there for seven days or depending on what their addicted to It will buy a little time to find a place to put them. You can also have them baker-acted which is where two family members sign aform saying their abusing drugs and the judge will send them off somewhere to get help. Also call around in your community there are place that will help you locate help for you. Rember this people will help people more whenever their willing to help theirselves.
Addiction Feedback: Yes. You can check yourself into any hospital with a phsyc unit doing what the other answer said. You have to tell them you are suicidal or homocidal. But, after you detox for five days, then what? They just tell you what to do and let you go. You have to have follow-up. Sometimes the hospital will send you to a local rehab center if you have Medicaid or private insurance. Other than that, trust me, you’re on your own. We’ve been through this.
Are there any half-way houses in your town? You could try there.
Do you have a mental health department you can contact. They can talk with you. Good luck. I hope you’re serious cause I’ve been through this with my son. I’m sure there are people who care about you. Go to them.
