Addiction Feedback: I assume you don’t want to be a physician or a nurse. Consider studying to be a clinical social worker, a psychologist, or a counselor.

Contact nearby community mental health clinic and ask director about volunteer opportunities. I am sure almost nothing exists for one who is under 18.

Addiction Feedback: study social care to become a social care worker, not a social worker. social care work with people on a daily basis and is very rewarding as you get to see the people continuously. social workers may see clients once or twice but are mainly responsible for the decision making.

Addiction Feedback: Typically you would study social work, or psychology in college, or you could follow the medical doctor route and specialize in physical detox. Also some schools are offering specialized curriculums in addiction counseling. Any of these would be well paired with an internship at a drug rehabilitation center near you.
