My best friend is an alcoholic. I accompanied him to a alcohol rehab last Wednesday because I finally convinced him to get some help. The doctor and the counselor said that he has to undergo a detoxification first. What is detoxification? Is it really necessary? how long does it take to detox from alcohol? i have meds that will help me. plus im seeing a counselor. but im scared cuz Ive heard you could die. although my doc doesn’t think im that bad yet. i just want to know what i have to look forward to. i mean symtem wise.
